Mentors should be in their last or penultimate year of studies, are committed in helping others and genuinely want to make a difference to an international student’s life in Mauritius.
About The Role
- Communicate and answer all relevant questions on the university, accommodation facilities, foods available and ambient climate, etc.
- Welcome international students from the airport and accompany the him/her to the selected accommodation.
- Tour of the locality where accommodated and tour of the university campus.
- Advise on correct procedures to have a student identity card, open a bank account, or any other transaction
- Report to the Student Affairs Section of the University regarding any problems encountered.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
You must be:
- A current Undergraduate/ Postgraduate student at a Public Higher Education Institution.
- Studying in penultimate or final year.
- Available for mentoring new international students including outside university hours.
- Committed to helping others and genuinely want to make a difference to international students’ life.
- Note: Giving financial aid to the mentee is excluded from the mentor’s list of duties.
